Conflict is not just a problem to be solved—it is an opportunity for growth, understanding, and restoration. My approach to conflict begins with the belief that resolution is not about winning or losing, but about fostering accountability, restoring balance, and deepening roots for the future. Because I am born and raised in Alberta, I have always been inspired by the resilience of the tallgrass prairie. I recognize that true peace comes not from avoiding tension, but from navigating it with clarity and respect.
Rooted in the principles of restorative justice, my work is informed by the understanding that harm is best addressed through meaningful dialogue, accountability, and a commitment to healing. Drawing on the wisdom of pioneers like Howard Zehr, I view both mediation and restorative justice processes as safe places where all voices are heard, relationships are honoured, and solutions emerge organically through shared understanding.
I also recognize and respect the Indigenous traditions of peacemaking and community dialogue that have long existed on the lands where I work. While Tallgrass is not an Indigenous-led practice, I sincerely seek to uphold values of relational accountability and holistic conflict resolution, honouring the deep wisdom of those who have stewarded these approaches for generations.
I have spent my career helping people navigate conflict, rebuild trust, and find resolution in ways that are both practical and transformative. My journey began in restorative justice back in 2012, when I helped design Canada’s first restorative process for student conduct management. Since then, I have worked in mediation, leadership, and conflict resolution across a wide range of settings—nonprofits, universities, corporate environments, and faith-based organizations.
With a Certificate in Mediation and Restorative Justice from Eastern Mennonite University, I bring a depth of knowledge and hands-on experience in guiding individuals, workplaces, and communities through complex conflicts. My background includes:
Having worked at the intersection of corporate leadership, restorative practices, and faith-based conflict resolution, I understand the unique challenges that arise in personal, professional, and institutional conflicts. My goal is always to guide people toward solutions that are not only effective in the moment but sustainable in the long run.
